To prepare dough in the process of baking (Genesis 18:6; 1 Samuel 28:24; Hosea 7:4).
KNEAD, verb transitive nead. To work and press ingredients into a mass, usually with the hands; particularly, to work into a well mixed mass the materials of bread, cake or paste; as, to knead dough.
The cake she kneaded was the savory meat.
KNE'ADED, participle passive ne'aded. Worked and pressed together.
KNE'ADING, participle present tense ne'ading. Working and mixing into a well mixed mass.
The vessel in which the dough, after being mixed and leavened, was left to swell or ferment (Exodus 8:3; 12:34; Deuteronomy 28:5, 7). The dough in the vessels at the time of the Exodus was still unleavened, because the people were compelled to withdraw in haste.
